No one calls me Fred. Well, no one used to call me Fred until Harry Dresden walked into my library with that massive coat flapping around his lanky frame. Now the whole Paranet seems to know me as "Fred--in Oregon." That young man has more power about him than just magic...he has personality power. Since meeting him I've found myself doing the most surprising things and meeting the most unusual people...unusual even for Portland! Before being "Fred--in Oregon" I was only ever Winifred, head research librarian at the Multnomah County Library. To my family I was "Win" and to my colleagues I've always been Winifred or Ms Deusterburg. I've always had an affinity for technology or really, for information gathering. Turns out there is more of magic to this than just 'luck.' Being one of the few magic users to whom technology does not object, I've become the defacto Paranet contact for those who can't get within 10 feet of a computer.

Side note, i decided my character is attending PSU and living on campus. My 1st adventure: my roommate goes missing the first week of school and i start my own investigation. When i find her body in Forest Park, with bite marks on her neck, I turn to the only place I can look for answers, the library. Because who is going to believe me when i say they were from a human?
